Fordham University
Fordham University
I was first introduced to Fordham University as a 15-year-old high school sophomore, attending tours alongside an older sibling navigating that chapter of their life. I’ll admit, I never listened to anything going on in these college tours, despite my parents’ strong encouragement to do so.
However, something about Fordham stuck. My 15-year-old self wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly what I liked about my first visit, with the exception of a fleeting remark as we left: I kinda like this place.
Fast forward to March 2020, I awoke one morning in the early days of what became the long closure caused by the coronavirus pandemic. I made breakfast, coffee, and said in front of my family, “I’m going to Fordham”. At that point, not only had I been notified of my admission, but also a full-tuition scholarship for academic excellence.
From that day, I never looked back.
Come September 2020, I began my tenure as a Ram in a heavily-restricted pandemic introduction. Social life revolved around Eddie’s Parade, Arthur Avenue, and finding workarounds to see friends on campus.
Fast forward almost five and a half years, a lot has changed not only on our campus but in this world. Seeing my peers and other distant friends grow alongside me is something I’ll forever cherish. Now, we, the Class of 2024, have all dispersed around NYC, the country, and the classroom, all carrying a shared yet bespoke sense of direction.
Below, please find a collection of photos I’ve taken across my native Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, New York. These photos - alongside the plentiful relationships and experiences I’ve gained in my 4 years - all hold a special place in my heart.
